Seton Continues to Work on 2010-11 Collaboration

ArtsTech of Kansas City and Seton HS have been in discussion about the development of a visual arts program for students next year.  Plans call for students to attend Seton HS in the morning through lunch.  They would then go to Arts Tech for instruction in visual arts or computer technology.

Quick Facts About Seton High School

As I was putting together a display for Seton’s 40th Anniversary Open House, I posted some quick facts about Seton HS – thought they were worthy of sharing!

  • Seton HS is NCA accredited – one of few public high schools within the Kansas City Missouri School District boundaries that is regionally accredited by NCA/CASI.  The KCMSD is only provisionally accredited by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education of the State of Missouri.
  • Seton HS has a diverse student population that spans all portions of the KCMSD boundaries.
  • Seton HS has its focus on academic rigor and high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.
  • Seton HS staff have high academic credentials.  All 5 instructional and support staff members have earned BA/BS degrees.  Four of 5 staff members have at least one Master’s Degree – 3 of 5 staff members have earned multiple Master’s degrees or in progress of earning additional advanced coursework. The 5th staff member is currently working on completing her MA degree.  All staff members – except the school principal – bring prior work experience outside of education prior to entering the education profession.
